The Flaherty Film Seminar is sort of like a summer camp for experimental and documentary film folks. Everyone spends a week living in the dorms at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie NY and watching four film screening per day. The films screened are kept top-secret so that nobody knows what they are about to watch until it's announced in the auditorium just prior to the screening. Afterwards there are very serious discussions. It's a unique and wonderful full immersion cinema experience.
Vladimir was lucky enough to share her show with films by
Zoe Beloff and
Nancy Andrews both of whom make amazing technically inventive 16mm films.
